Nagarkot Day Hiking tour :
Nagarkot (32km) is the most popular tourist destinations (Mountain View point) to see the stunning sunrise and Majestic Himalaya.  Mt. Everest can be seen in a clear day. The best views are Mt.Sishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shanker, Ghanchenpo.

You will have your breakast at Nagarkot and hike to Changunarayan temple (the masterpieces in Nepalese iconography).  This is easy and interesting walk through rural life of Nepal.

Optional itinerary 01 Nagarkot day hiking tour:
This option includes the sunrise in the morning from Nagarkot. The tour must start early in the morning from Kathmandu to arrive in Nagarkot before sun come up. It will take one and half hour to reach Nagarkot from Kathmandu. Our City tour guide will pick you up by car/ van from your hotel (Thamel or near by) as per sun shine time. Enjoy the sunrise and breakfast at Nagarkot and hike (approx 4 hr) down to Changu Narayan temple.  The trail will passes through the village and through jungle. The first half of hiking will have Himalayan view and the other part will have Kathmandu view and mountain as well as. Enjoy your lunch at Changunarayan and visit the temple. After, drive to Kathmandu.

Itinerary Option 02 Nagarkot day hiking tour:
This option is to see the sun set from Nagarkot. Our city tour guide will pick (10:30 am) you up from your hotel (Thamel or around) by car and drive to Changu Narayan temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Visit the temple and hike (approx 4 hr) to Nagarkot. On the way, you will cross the road to Nagarkot and if you feel tired, you could drive to Nagerkot otherwise you can continue to your destination. Enjoy your late lunch at Nagarkot. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and Himalayan view from Nagarkot and drive back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your Hotel and end the trip.

Walking trail and people to Nagarkot hiking:
While hiking from Nagarkot to Changunarayan, the trail will be passing through the tiny Tamang villages. You will encounter children playing and asking chocolate, grazing goats, cattle’s and working people in the field.  You can see the traditional way of Nepalese lifestyle.

Note: You can add Bhaktapur Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) sightseeing within this itinerary. There will be extra cost to add the tour. If you are interested to add, please write us.

Nagarkot hiking in Summer/ rainy (June to September): The temperature in this season can be around 10-15 and in morning and afternoon could be up to 30-35. You can wear a long shirt, trouser and fleece jacket in the morning and walking shoes, raincoat or umbrella. Winter Clothings to Day Hike to Nagarkot (October to February): The morning temperature can be around (-5 to 5) and in the afternoon could be up to (15 to 20) in Nagarkot. You can wear a long shirt, warm jacket, trouser, thermal trouser, woolen cap, gloves, walking shoes. Spring (March to May) Clothings to Day Hike to Nagarkot:  The morning temperature can be around 10 in Nagarkot. After sun shine, the temperature goes up to 25 degree.  You can wear a long shirt, trouser and fleece jacket in the morning and walking shoes. What to bring to a day hiking to Nagarkot: a small day pack bottle of Water, gum, chocolate, biscuit, sunglass, sunhat, sun cream, camera, trekking pole (optional), and mask to avoid dust.
