Champadevi Day Hiking
Champadevi 2285m is a high hill to the south of Kathmandu. This is getting popular to nature hikers and Himalayan view. It Offers a birds eye view to the Kathmmandu valley and Himalayan peaks to the North including (Manaslu Himalayan range, Gahesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker and Mt. Everest in a clear day.
Champadevi Day Hiking starts after half an hour drive to Lanagol village from Thamel or Patan. The Himalaya and Valley view seen from its starting. The Bagmati River corridor, Bishnumati river corridor, Monkey temple, Patan durbar square, Bungamati and Khokana can be seen amazing
After hiking about an hour you will arrive at a tiny Bosan village. This traditional Tamang villagereflects like a rural Nepal. After walking 15 min from this village You will be passing through a small Gumpa. After another 1:30 hr hiking you will arrive the best viewpoint. From here you have an option whether you would like to hike till the top or want to return. There is a small shrine in the top of Champadevi where the local people visit on the occasion of Nepalese New Year. The fresh air, lush green forest, creeping birds are also the best offering from this hiking. The mountain views from Champadevi hill is much wider and beautiful compared to Nagarkot.
After Boson village, there are no shop or any houses till the top of Champadevi. You should take a heavy breakfast before start and bring your own pack lunch or wait till late lunch. Hiking alone is not recommended.
Itinerary Champadevi Day Hiking
Pick up from Hotel: Your guide will pick you up (6:00 am approximately) in the morning from your hotel (Thamel, Patan or near by) and drive to starting point (Lanagol) about 30 min.
Sunrise: For the sunrise time, please check us when you confirm your booking. The sunrise can be seen from the starting of hiking point. It is not required to arrive to the top of the hill.
Champadevi Day Hiking: The hike will start with the view of Kathmandu on the back drop. After a 45m walking you will arrive a nice view point. Take some rest, click some picture and continue to the destination. After about 1:30 hr walking you will arrive at another view point. Take a break and enjoy some snacks. Push up (45m) for the last destination or if you feel enough you can start to return.
Return to Kathmandu: Your return to Kathmandu will depend on your walking pace. If you are an average hiker, you will be back to Kathmandu around 2-3 pm.

The trail and people along Champadevi Day Hiking : most of the trail will be passing through the lush green forest. The first part, you will enjoy the creeping birds, seasonal flowers and women carrying firewood and grass to their goat and cow. You may encounter children playing and asking chocolate, grazing goats, cattle’s and working people in the field.
