Nepal Visa Information
Foreign nationals, except Indians, need a visa for visiting Nepal. The Nepalese Embassy or Consulate provides you a visa. You can also get the visa at Nepal airport upon arrival.
Visa Facility, Duration and Fee:
1: Multiple Entries: 15 days US$ 25 or equivalent convertible currency
2: Multiple Entries: 30 days US$ 40 or equivalent convertible currency
3: Multiple Entries: 90 days US$ 100 or equivalent convertible currency
1: Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 30 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 2 per day.
2: Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January December).
1: Gratis visa for 30 days available only for tourists of SAARC countries.
2: Indian nationals do not require visa to enter into Nepal. As per national immigration, Indian nationals traveling to Nepal must posses any one of the following documents.
II. Driving license with photo
III. Photo identity car issued by a Government agency
IV. Ration card with Photo
V. Election Commission card with photo
VI. Identity card issued by Embassy of India in Kathmandu
VII. Identity card with photo issued by Sub Dividional Magistrate or any other officials above his rank.
However, nationals of the following countries will not entry visa on arrival Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameron, Somalia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan. The above mentioned nationals require obtaining a visa prior to their visit.
Transit visa for one day can be obtained from Nepal’s immigration offices at the entry points upon the production of departure flight ticket via Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, by paying US $ 5 or equivalent convertible currency.
Note: A valid passport and one passport size photo with a light background require obtaining a Nepal visa. Immigration has not specified the size of the passport –size photo.
