Gosainkunda pass Trek


Overview

Gosainkunda pass trek is another beautiful trekking in Nepal. There are altogether 108 kundas (lakes) in this area and mainly visible from the routes are Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda and Gosainkunda.

Langtang is situated north of Kathmandu and the ethnic group, known as Tamangs mostly populates this area. The culture, language and their customs are much similar to the Tibetans. The views of snowy mountain peaks, like the Langtang Lirung (7,246 m.), Gangchenpo (5,846 m.), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m.) is excellent.

Langtang valley itself is an another marvelous attraction for tourists. One can set out this trek, drive out from Kathmandu to Dhunche either by local or reserved bus. Approximately 6 to 7 hours drive


Itinerary

Meet you in Nepal airport and transfer to you at your hotel in the city center. Take an easy evening to stroll around.

Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site (Pashupatinath- Hindu temple, Boudhanath - Buddhist stupa, Swayambhunath - Buddhist Stupa and Patan Durbar Square). Walk/ drive down to our office and Brief the program and introduce the guide. Back to Hotel and free in the evening.

Langtang is another Tamang village with stone-and-wood houses and yak grazing pastures. Today, while you hike above from Ghora Mt. Langtang Lirung (7,244m) start viewing.

This is the last village of your trek. Now you are above the tree line and the landscape is typically high Himalayan with short grass, juniper bushes and scrub. The trail climbs gradually. Climb to a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung.

Wake up Early morning at 5:30 am and have a breakfast. Our day begins with a steep climb to the top of Chorko Ri. Enjoying spectacular panoramic mountain views of the whole Langtang Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Langshisa Ri (6,810 m.), Gyanghempo (6,888 m.) Ganjala peak, Nayakang and many more. Trek back to Ghoda Tabela village.

After the breakfast follow down though the Langtang River. Enjoy the last night dinner in the mountain.

This is a steep hiking to Sin Gumpa from Thulo Syabru through forest of pine, fir and Rhododendron. This area is a residence of endanger animal Red Panda. You can have chance to see them.

You follow a rugged trail with dramatic views of Himal Chuli (7893m.,) Manaslu (8156m,) and Ganesh Himal (7406m.) On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen. Gosaikunda Lake, sacred place of Hindus and Buddhist.

Today you have to hike to Gosainkunda pass and after descend down to Ghopte. Ghohis is a small and tiny village.

There are many ascends and descends before getting to Kutumsang. Passing through rhododendron is very nice in blooming season. This area is called Helambu area which is famous for Cheese. You can visit some cheese factory while passing.

The trek start early in the morning. Trek to Chisapani where our jeep will be waiting to transfer to you to Kahtmandu. Generally descend to the Melamchi River and hike to Chisapani again.

Day 14 Fly back to Home. Sweet Home.
