Everest Trekking
Everest region, also known as Khumbu region, is situated at the lap of Himalayas, a perfect combination of natural beauty, geographically challenging routes and Sherpas, the mountain climbers.
Sherpas in Everest region came from Tibet in due course of time, living a very hard caravan life with sheep and yak. It was only after the declaration of Mt. Everest (8,848m) as a world's highest peak, when Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmond Hillary successfully ascent highest mountain on earth at at 11:30 a.m. on May 29, 1953. , the lifestyle of Sherpas started to change. They were the best high mountain porter and later world recognizes them as the famous mountain climber.
Trekkers can observe and study the Tibetan Buddhism and Sherpa lifestyle, their culture and tradition, also very much appreciated by tourist. While trekking in Everest, trekkers will pass through Mani wall, prayer flags, Tibetan Gumpas and Stupas.
Everest region is divided into two parts – upper Khumbu and lower Khumbu. Before the development of Lukla airport, trekkers have no choice but to trek from Jiri. But now trekkers have choice to directly fly to Lukla and start Everest trekking from upper Khumbu. This also makes the trail from Lukla a bit of crowdy.
Before moving up in High Mountain, well acclimatization of body is necessary. Everest trekking will be much enjoyed with the view of Mt. Everest. Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Number and many other high Himalayas.
There are few different courses to trek in Everest region as per time and interest of trekkers.
1. Jiri to Everest base camp (classical route)
2. Everest base camp trek (fly in and out from Lukla)
3. Gokyo chola pass trek
4. Mountain and Monastery
