Day hike to Champadevi
Champadevi 2285m is a high hill to the south of Kathmandu. It has amazing view of the valley and Himalayas to the North (Manaslu Himalayan range, Gahesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker and Mt. Everest to the east in a clear day.
Drive to 30 min to the starting point (Lanagol) and start hiking. It offers a Himalayan view and Valley view from its starting. As the trail gain height The bird eye view of the valley, the Bagmati River, monkey temple, Patan durbar square, Bungamati and Khokana, Bagmati river can be seen amazing. After hiking 1:00 hr, you will arrive at a a tiny Bosan village. This is a Tamang village with traditional houses. After walking 15 min You will be passing through a small Gumpa.
After 1:30 hr hiking you will arrive the best view point of this hiking. You will have a option whether you would like to complete to the top or start going down. There is a small shrine in the top where Hindu and Buddhist people visit in different time of the year. The local from Kirtipur and Kathmandu visit Champadevi temple in Nepalese New Year.
This is a pure nature hiking with fresh air and cultural people on the way. The mountain views from Champadevi hill is much wider and beautiful compared to Nagarkot. Once you will arrive to the top, we can enjoy the view, have some pack lunch, and then we will hike down to Kritipur where our car will be waiting.
Itinerary Day hike to Champadevi
Pick up from Hotel: Your guide will pick you up (6:00 am approximately) . Early in the morning from your hotel. Drive to starting point (Lanagol) about 30 min.
Sunrise: The sunrise time, please check us when you confirm your hiking. You can enjoy sunrise while hiking. It is not require to arrive some view point as the hiking trail is facing to east.
Hike to Chmpadevi: The hike will start with the Kathmandu view on the back drop passing a small village. After an 45m walking you will arrive a nice view point. Take some rest, click some picture and continue to the destination. After about 1:30 hr walking you will arrive at another view point. Take a break and enjoy some snacks. Push up (45m) for the last destination or if you feel enough you can start going down.
Return to Kathmandu: Your return to Kathmandu will depend on your walking pace. If you are an average hiker, you will be back to Kathmandu around 2-3 pm.

The trail and people along Day hike to Champadevi : most of the trail will be passing through the lush green forest. The first part, you will enjoy the creeping birds, seasonal flowers and women carrying firewood and grass to their goat and cow. You may encounter children playing and asking chocolate, grazing goats, cattle’s and working people in the field.
